Anyone who has spent any time at all with David and Cara knows how truly in love they are. Both are exceptional people and I was so happy to see their dreams come true.

Abi and Fermin had a beautiful wedding filled with tons of creative, personal touches. Their wedding took place at The Rathskeller in downtown Indianapolis. They stayed at the Westin in a simply amazing suite.

They had SUCH a unique location for the first look! The Rathskeller is full of gorgeous portrait opportunities and when Abi mentioned the possibility of using this room (complete with keyhole and beautiful floor to ceiling windows!) I was, to say the least... excited.

Abi and Fermin's ceremony was so, so personal. They co-wrote their vows and Abi said them in English and Fermin followed in Spanish for their bilingual guests. Such an amazing idea and way to allow everyone the opportunity to fully experience their ceremony.

We had the sweetest light snowfall right before their ceremony and thankfully it cleared off for the rest of the day. First shot of the day - bride's arrival.. look how excited she is!

I love these little guys so much! Many flower girls and ring bearers run down the aisle... not these two. They basked in the glory of their very special jobs. Look at those huge smiles. :D
There's always SO much energy and excitement as the bride walks down the aisle, Kassie and Brian's wedding was no exception. Sacred Heart is a phenomenal church. The details and grand-ness (Is that a word? Um, on my blog, yes. it is) are just incredible.

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."
Tela and Troy created a wonderful, rustic wedding full of charm at Camp Kikthawenund in Frankton, Indiana. The personal touches and design they poured into their wedding created a truly unique atmosphere and experience for their guests.
Despite the spitting rain and a bit of hail we experienced earlier in the day, it turned out to be such a special occasion, followed by a lively after party at Troy's parents home!
You may remember them from earlier this year at their July engagement session (where they had a mud fight!) after their April session got rained out. We've created so many unique images together - I'm so excited to open their Wedding Gallery!

As a photographer, it's always so wonderful to see the engagement photos displayed at the wedding reception! The Tela & Troy board was front and center as guests entered.
They had so many signs! Handmade signs, I may add. Seriously impressed by their craftsmanship! I really loved the idea for creating a tree for guests to write their names on the leaves. What a wonderful idea for a decorative item for their beautiful home!

There's nothing I love more than a good story.
And there's nothing that tells a story better than photos. Especially a love story... and to keep from having a 3,432 page blog post, I created storyboard images to upload to the blog! Takes a bit more time, so we'll see how it goes.

I was so excited to capture Christy and Sean's wedding day! They are some seriously niiccccceeeee people. I loved meeting them at their engagement session a few months back, and I knew Christy was seriously working hard to make her day perfect.
Fast forward a couple months and here we are!
Christy had the most gorgeous dress. I've been one lucky girl to have photographed so many gorgeous brides this year. The back! Those details! It's a photographers dream!
Details help tell a story. See that canvas below - that's my image from their engagement session! Christy made strawberry jam as wedding favors, my fav! Loved all of her personal touches.

THEY DID IT!
I lovelovelove the first few minutes after the B&G leave the ceremony area. It's the first time they can really grasp what just happened - as Christy and Sean opted not to see each other before the ceremony. And they say doing the first look ruins the surprise! They would NOT STOP SMILING! It was so contagious. :)

Here comes Dagny!
I've been fortunate to capture the Roeder family at some pretty special times...first, it was Ramie and Jeff at their maternity session on the Indianapolis Canal Walk. Then, Dagny made her grand appearance and I captured that special time. Now, Dagny is up and running and so ridiculously happy. Love her. This was the first time I'd been out to Eagle Creek in quite some time--bless them for being so patient as I drove around without direction. You see, I'm navigationally challenged (yep, I just made that up - hey it's my blog, right?) and thankfully, they were super laid back and didn't abort our mission to capture some great shots! I met these guys a little over a week ago, and let me tell you, they are some special people, folks! They have a beautiful story and equally beautiful hearts.
They were great and let me hop around to my favorite locations for their session, and they brought along their dogs for a few shots which I always love!
There were a lot of emotions when going through these photos - first of all, I laughed out loud on several occasions....and a few of the black and white conversions just about took my breath away.... you'll see.

Look how well-behaved these dogs are! They were off leash in a park full of kiddos and squirrels and whatnot and stayed right with us. As the proud owner of a wandering beagle, I really appreciate a dog that listens :)

It's hard to believe that before long the leaves will be turning from bright green to the gorgeous hues of yellow and orange that signify the changing of the seasons to beautiful fall weather. It was just yesterday we were experiencing 100 degree days, wasn't it?
Nevertheless, Fall weather is here...and if you're a procrastinator like me, you have not yet scheduled your Fall Family Photos! Now is the time and I'm offering some special rates for sessions BOOKED by October 31st!

*If you want to use your photos for holiday cards, your session must be completed by Friday, November 23rd in order to guarantee delivery of edited images in time to send cards.
Also, note that this portrait sale can be used for any type of session besides newborn, including glamour, senior, child, engagement, etc. If you have any questions at all, email me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Weeknight appointments will start at 5:30pm.
Weekend appointments will take place in the timeframes of 9am - 11 am or 3pm - 6pm.

I was honored when Kassie contacted me for information to photograph their wedding this December! You see, a long, long time ago we worked with eachother at Cheeseburger in Paradise while we were both in school! Funny how you cross paths with people in life. I believe it took a weeeee bit of convincing on Kassie's part, but I'm so glad they decided to do engagement photos, too! Her and Brian were so much fun to shoot!
Side note: I think engagement photos are critically important in helping to tell your story as an everyday couple. Think about it, virtually no other time do you ever seek out photography as a service for just you and your significant other (sans future prospective children!). Aside from senior portraits, (when, let's face it, everyone still looks soooo young!) the next big photo op for most people is their wedding! I've had many clients express dread over the prospect of having engagement photos (what to wear! We are short on time! I need to lose 5 pounds!, etc. etc. etc.!). But after it's all said and done, they always say how happy they were that they did it! Because you know what? It is FUN to have engagement photos. It's one of the more fun things to do in planning your wedding!
For this reason, I encourage all of my wedding clients to take engagement photos and am so happy that Kassie and Brian decided to go for it, and I hope they had a good experience and are happy they did it, too! We got some great images of these two, even a few of them with their cute, well-behaved dogs! Not only do photos document this fun time in your life (Kassie and Brian already go to this park every weekend! How awesome is it that I got to document that for them?!) but it's also a great way to build a relationship of trust with your photographer! Now I know what makes them laugh and I know how they interact - which helps me to prepare for how to best document their wedding day!

Babette and Michael's wedding had so many beautiful touches, unique features and let me tell you, it was HOT. It was at the Artist's Retreat Cottage in Nashville, Indiana. The reception was out in the open field area next to a gorgeous red barn, the reception was held inside. I was sooo happy to find this tree. I can't even tell you. It fit my concept perfectly...thankfully, Babette and Michael were trusting and let me incorporate my chair+chandelier in their wedding portraits!

Another special touch! Babette's family gave them a beautiful wedding gift! He handcrafted a gorgeous....I think it was called a trunk...please forgive me the name of it is escaping me but it was special! And there was a special inscription on the inside and a few special gifts that meant a lot to them. This was right after they opened it.

Melinda and Dan are entirely too cute! They are getting married in June 2013 in Fishers with their reception at one of my favorite venues - The Mansion at Oak Hill. Melinda is finishing up her senior year at Indiana University Bloomington, so we had to fit in their engagement session before she started the fall semester! We met up a few weeks back for their engagement session and they let me drag them all around the Fishers/Noblesville area until we ran out of daylight!

What a beautiful couple. What a beautiful wedding. What a ridiculously warm day!
These two put so many personal touches and had such creative ideas for their wedding. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brown!
They're high school sweethearts and have been together for 7 years and engaged for 5!
I'm sure their family and friends are really happy to finally seeing these two tie the knot!
I knew it was fate that they contacted me when Amanda told me that their wedding ceremony was taking place at The Garden Chapel and her reception was taking place at the Creative Arts and Event Center in Greenfield...because those are the exact locations that Eric and I had our wedding nearly 2 years ago! To add to that bizarre connection - our husbands have the same names! AND...we pulled up to our meeting and realized we both drive the same Make, Model and Year and Color Equinox SUVs....weird, right?!
Oh, and did I mention the fact that they're absolute sweethearts? Because they totally are. :)
The one above kinda ended up being a self portrait. Call me paparazzi. :) So many things I love about this next photo....I love how Amanda's feel are so casually crossed, and also the reflection of the movie theatre lights from across the street...and that gorgeous chandelier inside Tiffany's!

You are so gorgeous.
If you know my little sister, you know she's not the type to spend hours beautifying herself on a daily basis. At all. Hey, she's a full-time job workin'-college goin' momma. But when she does. Watch out...she's hot!
In fact, she arrived at my house in typical fashion. A Cheeseburger in Paradise tshirt. Who doesn't love some CIP?! But this girl? She lives it.
Soooo.... reluctantly, she resigned herself to me completely, and gave me full creative control. So I went CRAZY. Crazy with the hairspray, that is. You see, my sister has the most thick, beautiful hair, ever. I mean it. Ever. And I am sooooo jealous. I teased, I sprayed, I curled, I poofed, I fluffed, I did everything I dream of doing to my own hair...if only it were as thick and gorgeous as this girl's.
....later I was told it took quite a while to brush it all out, but I think we can all agree it was worth it :)
Met this adorable family a few weekends back on a H.O.T. Sunday afternoon. Joy and I had been communicating about her maternity sessions for a while, but due to the endless rain in April it seemed as though we would never be able to sneak her session in before their baby girl arrives in June! Thankfully, April held true at bringing May flowers and we had a gorgeous day, albeit hot, for a session at a local park.
It took a little convincing with some bubbles to get some cooperation from their little guy, but once his dad started waving my magic bubble wand, I captured a number of silly boy expressions and he forgot about me entirely!

This next image is of the little man sitting my my handcrafted prop (by handcrafted I mean I found it and put a coat of sloppy paint on it....and that about sums up my crafting ability. Ah well. Duke was pretty fond of it. We thought he'd be ready to jump out of it, but he just liked chillin' in it.
